tempe's "hello friday"

Right time right place for escaping the pending summer heat. I enjoyed listening to live vocals with guitars on a Friday in the lobby area adjacent to the three performance auditoriums (at the Tempe Center for the Arts).

I've experienced in particular the talents of Sammi Martinez, who has written many of the songs she sings while she picks (like "......Everything I have ever known doesn't make sense anymore...") Her proud father is a friend and colleague.

"The young" Lisa Oorlong, "the younger" Sammi, "the old" Walt Richardson, and "the older" Joey Weisgerber, was how Joey referred to their collaboration that evening. After each song, they alternated playing guitar and singing. Those pleasant two hours allowed my Friday to conclude in a nice calm.
