Carrie's lilly
Carrie Nimmer is a dedicated landscape designer, who first introduced me to this beautiful bloom. Delicate, fragile, and refreshing. If watered properly, it will survive our harsh desert climate by dying back to a subterranean existence. Then as the desert cools... in October...a delightful surprise. I composed this image in my front yard. It captures wonderful natural contrasts...soft while pedals... subtle yellows... and a bold metamorphic pink granite boulder.
