nature's education
I was a part of the agenda for the Project N.I.C.E.(Nature Inspired Childhood Education) Nature Day Camp this March. This is a cooperative effort between The University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Cooperative Extension Maricopa County.
I gave a presentation about "nature, architecture, and fort making" to educators of children in ages 6 and under . And then we made some forts.
It was about tree roots and concrete foundations, tilt up concrete walls and blown up pool rafts, igloos and stacked plastic milk bottles, clay tile roofs and bird feathers, cross ventilation and cut holes in cardboard boxes, catostophic failures and untied shoes, and FUN.
